MoYu RS3M V5 3x3 Magnetic Speedcube - Dual Adjustment (no Robot Box)

This is the cube we recommend to anyone who has learned to solve and now wants to bring their time down. It works well straight out of the box.

Why this version

The RS3M V5 comes in several versions. The cheapest one (Standard) has no adjustment system at all - you tighten the screws and that is it. This one has the dual-adjustment system: an adjuster ring under the centre cap that you turn one click at a time, no disassembly and no experience needed.

Two numbers you can verify at any international store: 65 g, lighter than the RS3M 2020 that built this line's reputation, and 55.5 mm, the standard competition size.

The robot display box is not included. This is the version without it, which is why it costs less.

Setting it up the first time

1. Turn it and play with it for a few minutes before judging it - the plastic needs to break in.
2. If it feels tight or locks up: pop off a centre cap, back the adjuster ring off one click, and try again.
3. If pieces start popping out: tighten one click the other way. Adjust one click at a time, never all at once.

Questions people ask before buying

Is this a good first serious cube?
If you can already solve and want to get faster, yes, this is the one we recommend. If you are still learning the solve, start with something cheaper like the MeiLong 3C and come back to this.

How is it different from the Standard version?
The Standard has no adjustment system, just screws. This one lets you tune tension and elasticity from the top.

Does the robot display box come with it?
No. This version does not include it.

How strong are the magnets?
Medium. You feel them close each layer and hold the cube in place, but they do not fight your hand. Right for most people. If you like very strong magnets, other cubes suit you better - message us and we will point you to one.

Does it need lube on day one?
No, it works out of the box. Lube quiets it down and smooths the turning, but it is optional.

Stickerless - will the colours wear off?
The plastic itself is coloured, there are no stickers to peel. The most that happens is it gets glossy with use.

Is this MagLev?
No. This version uses standard springs. If you want MagLev, look at the Super RS3M MagLev.

Is it allowed in official WCA competitions?
Yes. A standard-size 3x3 with nothing prohibited on it.
